God is serious. Very Serious.
God is very serious about you
He formed you:
Isaiah 44:24 (NKJV) “Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb: ‘I am the Lord, who makes all things, Who stretches out the heavens all alone, Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself;'”
He promised not to destroy us (Noah's Promise):
Genesis 9:11 (NKJV) “Thus I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
He sent Jesus to die on the cross for you:
John 3:16 (NKJV) “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
God is very serious about His relationship with you
God wants to communicate with you:
Jeremiah 29:12-13 (NKJV) “Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”
God goes to you:
Revelation 3:20 (NKJV) “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”
God favors you
John 15:4 (NKJV) “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.”
God is very serious about your wellbeing
God leads you out of the wilderness as fire at night and cloud by day:
Exodus 13:21-22 (NKJV) “And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night. He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night from before the people.”
God leads you out of evilness (out of Egypt slavery):
Exodus 20:2 (NKJV) “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.”
God giving you a future and hope
Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV) “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
God is serious about your eternity
When God created Adam and Eve and gave them a garden:
Genesis 2:8 (NKJV) “The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed.”
When human sin, God still sent the second Adam, Jesus:
1 Corinthians 15:45 (NKJV) “And so it is written, ‘The first man Adam became a living being.’ The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.”
Jesus died for us all, and God prepared houses in heaven for us all:
John 14:2-3 (NKJV) “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”
God is very serious about your purpose
God is serious about the unique purpose He has for each individual’s life. He has equipped you with specific gifts, talents, and opportunities, and He intends for you to use them to make a difference in the world, serving others and glorifying Him in all that you do.
To Be in Relationship with Him
John 17:3 (NKJV): “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”
God desires a personal and intimate relationship with each person. The ultimate purpose of human life is to know God and develop a relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.
To Reflect His Image and Glory
Genesis 1:27 (NKJV): “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”
Humans are created in God’s image and are called to reflect His character and qualities in the world. This includes embodying His love, justice, mercy, and creativity.
To Live in Obedience and Holiness
1 Peter 1:15-16 (NKJV): “But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy.'”
God calls His people to live lives of holiness and obedience, following His commands and teachings as outlined in Scripture. This obedience is a response to His love and grace and is facilitated by the Holy Spirit.
To Serve and Steward Creation
Genesis 2:15 (NKJV): “Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.”
Humanity is entrusted with the care and stewardship of God’s creation. This includes responsible management of the environment and care for all creatures.
To Spread the Gospel and Make Disciples
Matthew 28:19-20 (NKJV): “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
One of the central purposes for believers is to share the good news of Jesus Christ with others and to help grow the faith of new believers, expanding the kingdom of God on earth.
To Worship and Glorify God
1 Corinthians 10:31 (NKJV): “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
Ultimately, all aspects of life are to be done in a manner that glorifies God. Worship is not confined to singing or prayer but is expressed in every action that honors God.
To Enjoy Eternal Life with Him
John 10:10 (NKJV): “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
God offers eternal life through Christ, which begins now and extends beyond physical death. This life is meant to be abundant and fulfilling, filled with the joy of knowing God.
