WHY IS IT A SIN?

SMOKING /vaping

Colossians 3:5
1 Corinthians 6:12
Ephesians 5:5

The Bible never directly mentions smoking. But there are principles in the Bible that definitely apply to smoking. The Bible commands us not to allow our bodies to become “mastered” by anything. Smoking is undeniably strongly addictive and easily falls in the principles of idolization which is sinful.

The Bible also commands us to protect our temple, bodies, and smoking does nothing but damages it.

SEX /before marriage

Hebrews 13:4

God wants us to save sex for marriage not because it’s “bad” or “dirty” but because it’s unique, exclusive, and wonderful. Sex isn’t just casual fun, sex is tying the knot between the two souls and becoming one flesh.

Marriage comes with vows, trust, loyalty, and deep commitment. So having sex with no unity foundation, marriage will lead to depression, loss of self respect, toxicity, pain, regret, anxiety, and std’s.

The Bible also commands us to protect our temple, bodies, and smoking does nothing but damages it.

GETTING DRUNK

Ephesians 5:18
Galatians 5:19-21

Alcohol is a tool that satan uses to weaken the minds of people, so evil spirits can easily control/possess the drunk person. Why do you think people don’t remember saying or doing anything when they were drunk?

Remember, we’re spiritual beings in a human vessel. The spirit world is very strong. It’s why alcohol has been labeled as “Spirits.” Don’t make yourselves easy targets for coward sata nand his army of cronies.

LAZINESS

Proverbs 13:4
Proverbs 18:9

The Bible teaches that laziness is sinful. It’s the opposite of effort, diligence, and wisdom in work. Working has been part of God’s design since Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden before the Fall. Laziness prevents works that supports families, helps societies, and strengthens churches.

GOSSIP

Proverbs 20:19
Ephesians 4:39

Gossip is the opposite of the gospel. In the mouth and the ear of a gossip is a morsel of bad news, not the good news. This bad news is a story of someone else’s sin or shame which can be bad in at least two ways.

Gossips hurt neighbour’s, divide friends, and damage reputations and relationships. The Bible labels gossips as untrustworthy and nosy.

JUDGING

John 8:15-16
Deuteronomy 1:17

Judging others becomes sinful behaviour when we judge with pride, comparison, or to belittle another. Judgement like this can harden our hearts and blind us from loving. Even judging in your head is a sin. We have to intentionally go against these thoughts. God says, “judge others and you will be judged by him”.

ARGUING

Proverbs 15:1
Proverbs 23:9

Scripture tells us that we shouldn’t argue with each other especially over simple matters that are meaningless. Christians are to be loving, kind, humble, and respectful to others.

In any argument, anger never solves a problem nor wins a debate! If you are right then there is no need to get angry. If you are wrong then you don’t have the right to get angry.

PROFANITY swearing | vulgarity

Ephesians 4:29
James 3:6

Profanity is discouraged because it lacks respect for language, others and our spirits. Profanity can hurt, offend, and disrupt relationships. Choosing respectful communications promotes a positive atmosphere in interactions.

“The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.”
