A Taste of Christmas Love: Cupcakes, Presents, and Hope in the Philippines

The true spirit of Christmas lives in the joy we share with others, especially with children whose eyes light up at the simplest gestures of love. This holiday season, I was blessed with the opportunity to bring smiles to children in the Philippines through a special donation of cupcakes and presents.

As we reflect on this gesture, we’re reminded of Jesus’s words

It is more blessed to give than to receive.
Acts 20:35

Every cupcake shared and present unwrapped represented not just material gifts, but moments of pure joy and reminders that they are loved and remembered during this special season.

The Bible teaches us about the importance of giving with a cheerful heart:

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9:7

This Christmas donation was more than fulfilling an obligation—it was about sharing God’s love in tangible ways.

Christ’s birth, which we celebrate at Christmas, was itself the greatest gift of love:

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son
John 3:16
Through these small acts of giving, we mirror just a fraction of that divine love, creating ripples of joy that extend far beyond the immediate moment.
Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.
Proverbs 19:17

In serving these children, we serve Him, and the joy reflected in their faces is a testament to the transformative power of giving.

May this small initiative inspire others to share their blessings, for as Jesus taught us,

Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me
Matthew 25:40

Let us continue to spread love and joy, not just during Christmas, but throughout the year, remembering that every act of kindness, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in someone’s life.
